What's inreach?
"Inreach" is all the communications methods you can use to bring your event/group/activity known to Chalice congregants. It is similar to outreach, but you're not reaching outside our community, you're reaching in.

Best Practices

Chalice congregants lead busy lives and receive lots of emails. You cannot assume that congregants have read your announcement just by putting it in the weekly email or the monthly newsletter. If you are launching a new group, activity, or event, be creative in finding multiple ways to get your message out.
  • "Marketers cite the 'rule of seven' (or 10 or 12, the numbers vary) with superstitious fervor. That rule states that you must bring to the same target audience the same message at least seven times in an 18-month period in order for that message to penetrate."

Communications Policies and Procedures

  • Submission Guidelines for E-nuus
  • Congregation-Wide Emails (aka Single Subject Emails)
    • Request to Send a Single Subject Email (online form)
  • Hosting or Advertising an Event as a "Chalice Event"
  • Monthly Newsletter (PrevUUS)
The deadline to submit an announcement or article for inclusion in the monthly newsletter is the 24th of the month. The newsletter is compiled by the Office Administrator at [email protected].

Choosing Graphics
Graphics and images are helpful and eye-catching. We also need to be sure we are allowed to use them; it's not okay to just pull graphics off the internet. A good site for usable images is www.pixabay.com.
